I've been taking a whole lot of pictures recently and it's becoming rather difficult to choose which to put up, since I'm not the biggest fan of entries being filled to the brim with things other than words - but oh, well. Here are some from one of my earlier weekends here;

Saturday morning breakfast at Caffe Nero; where we had a toasted panini, a chocolate muffin, hot chocolate - with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles! - and tea. I even bought a small box of dark chocolate covered coffee beans to try when I saw it at the counter, and it's now sitting nicely on my shelf along with my other goodies.
There was a flea market that day - the Saturday International Market, if I can recall. Was a flurry of hustling and bustling, excited chatter and countless of food and knick-knack stalls set up along the street, and a multi-cultural one at that - French, Spanish, Chinese, traditional Scottish, the likes. How it reminded me of the night markets back home.

Union Terrace Gardens, which was absolutely
beautiful - summer was still around, so the flowers were still in pretty bloom. I saw a man playing with his German Shepherd in the park, both bounding happily on the sun-warmed grass, and it reminded me of home once more.

Chow mein from the flea market! For Jolene and all those back home who know about my Chinese-takeaway dream - it had always been a dream of mine to eat Chinese from a takeaway box after seeing it countless of times in movies - and it came true, much to my delight.
Oh, the simple pleasures - how I adore you.

His Majesty's Theatre, which sits grandly next to the Central Library, another building with similar architecture. Made a note to visit these two places sometime soon.
Sunday's;

Breakfast at Books & Beans on Belmont Street - a very quaint and lovely place, very homey, what with the cosy couches and secondhand books all stacked up in shelves, just waiting for you to browse - they sell from a pound to three. I was tempted to buy one just for the sake of it but decided against it after some contemplation. They had notes around the shop too - "Give a good book a good home today" and "A book is not a coffee mug coaster" being two of them.
We popped into a cute little shop next to Books & Beans after - Its Kitsch - which sells quirky bric-a-brac such as mugs with lyrics scribbled on them and et cetera. And outside, a man busking with his trusty acoustic guitar - something you see quite often here, as I saw another one or two after Spanish for dinner that very night.
Mm, and that wraps up my second weekend.
